I have posted a few times about this......i have a 01 stepside short bet regular cab....it's a 5 spd 4x4 with a 4.6 L and i'm very interesed in a suspension lift for my truck.....on their is a listing for a procomp 6'' lift with 17x9 wheels and 35x12.5/17 mud terrains........are their certain lift that i can put on my truck because it's a 5spd or will any suspension lift work as long as it's for a 01 4x4....i'm new to suspension lifts and i want one so i need help........that is the listing on ebay below...if anyone can help me weather or not it will work i'd greatly appreciate it
well, when i look at sites like procomp, skyjacker, exc...they specify tranny...not sure if it's cause of crossmembers or what but they do specify?????
anyone know why they specify tranny??
i just want to make sure this is going to work and that their isn't anything i need to know before i get it
I would stay away from pro comp, they ride like poo. I bought the 6.5" lift for my SD and haven't liked it since day one but I'm too cheap to go buy new springs.
If all you want to do is get your truck in the air and don't care about the ride, go with pro comp, otherwise, buy beware....
To be honest, I really don't know for the F150's. I just know to stay away from pro comp if you don't want to end up in traction at the chiropractor. ha ha.
I'd check around the F150 forum and see what guys are rollin' on in there.
anyone else.....i posted in the F150 forum and they sent me here.....i figured you guys would have more experience on the topic.....their has to be some people with a shortbed thats a 5spd with a lift on it out there somewhere.....
Well I kinda like the skyjacker and the Fabtech. The problem is I use the term saving up losely. I'm 16 and having a hard enough time paying for gas as it is.
o, yea 16 is a little bit away from afording 3k in truck parts but you'll get there....yeah, i'm kinda looking at the skyjacker myself ....but their is a listing on ebay for a procomp 6'' lift wheels and tires for 3k.....so, if thats still there when i have the rest of the money i think thats what i'm gettin unless i find a good deal on a skyjacker
Anyone have a lift on a shortbed stepside 4.6 L 5 spd????
