Well, not being a smoker I am looking at the huge wasted space I have on my console of my Lariat where the ash tray and lighter take up a good chunk of the dash below the radio.
Has anyone put anything cool there? Even the option for a storage cubby, or CD holder, or something?
a couple of guys have put their XM controller in there. A conpany makes a set of guages to go in the space after you pull the ashtray. Or you can be like most people and use it like a small trashcan.
Hi
I have a NEO mp3 music jukebox and i mounted the control head in the ash tray.
I did not have to destroy it.The ash tray can be re installed and not show the mod.
i had my xm radio put in there. i asked the guy if he could put it in there and he said yeah but i never have before. he put in some foam first, then some velcro on it in case i wanted to take it out when i were to trade trucks. now i can close it up when i get out and it's hid.
I put my window switches on the lighter panel. I left the lighter because that gives me two places to charge phones etc. Sometimes I need both sockets. But it would be nice to find something cool to put in place of the ashtray. A scangauge mount would be nice.

Do you know the name of the company which does that?
I thought about adding some Rancho RS900 shocks and then ordering the incab system and taking it apart and placing the guages and buttons in it. I am still looking at the design but that would be a great place for it.
I installed my XM commander in there. Fits perfectly. Just took off the bezel and hard wired it all into an fm modulator, although that will change within the next month or so since the creation of the new aux adapter. I placed the XM on a few styrofoam blocks that were an exact fit to the tray. The tray still closes and the whole thing looks really clean. I also installed the FM modulator on a little black toggle switch which i placed next to the lighter on that black piece of plastic.
