Do I have a dusting problem?

I put this up last weekend and didn't get any feedback so I'm trying agian. I installed my CCV mod and took the opportunity to inspect the intake. The first tube from filter to the CCV was spotless. THe second tube from the CCV to the turbo was coated in oil and grimmy, it felt dirty. I know the oil is from the CCV vapors. Why so dirty? Is this a dusting problem? Will the Ford AIS system fix this? Thanks

Did you feel the edge of the blades on the turbo? Did they feel rounded off? I would think your alright. Do you run a K&N filter replacement. They dont seal in the airbox worth beans. Toss it if you do.(I know from experience!) If your truck is still running strong and turbo sounds fine you'll be alright. Dusting usually rounds the impeller blades off causing lack of boost causing lack of power!

She still pulls really hard. I have a AFE filter in it now. I think I'm going to throw a factory filter back in until I get the AIS.

Why is it so dirty, obviously it is leaking dirt. Will an AIS fix it? No filtering system will "fix" an engine that has dusting damage to the rings and cylinders. But it takes a lot of dirt for a long time to do it. Like using the cheapo three prong and two clip stock air filter leaking for 50K driving on dirt roads or construction sites. The turbo blade should be just like a knife edge. If they are blunted or pitted on the leading edge then you had significant dusting. Maybe you caught it early. That little dip in the tube catches CCV oil and small amount of dirt. Maybe that was all there was. I caught mine early and changed filtration systems. 65K later no problems or oil consumption, silicon 5 ppm at last oil change. An oil analysis, with much higher silicon levels might lead one to the conclusion that dusting is possible. A compression test might tell you something. Ar you just worried about it or having some symptoms.? If you are not having oil consumption issues, low power or any symptoms then just get the AIS system and get an oil analysis done a couple of oil changes in a row.
