Fuel pump issue?
I have a 97 Ranger 4.0 with 130,000 on it. A few months ago when I started my truck cold it would crank longer than normal before it started. I found out that if I turned the key forward for about five seconds, it started fine. I waited until I heard the fuel pump turn off before trying to crank it. I changed the fuel filter thinking it was clogged, and I ran some Sea Foam through the tank. After that the truck started fine for about a month or two and now the same problem is back. It starts fine when it's warm, but not cold. I've had the popular engine code of both banks running lean. I've changed all the O2 sensors and the MAF sensor. I think the engine code was unrelated because of the timing of when it began starting hard and when the engine code showed up, which was about a month apart. The engine code has been gone since changing the sensors out. I'm thinking fuel pump, or injectors. Any ideas for the next move would be great. Thanks for any help!
