On my truck, the water outlet for the heater hose has a ported vaccum switch, the blue one. This is the outlet from the manifold. I have torn the engine apart for a rebuild now, the outlet is so rusted, I need to replace it. I can't seem to find another outlet with the spot for it.
Do I need to put the ported switch back in that location or can I just send the vaccum line straigt to a vaccum port on the carb?
If not, can this switch be put in an aftermarket manifold?
Opps forgot some details---- 78 460. The only thing going to this switch is the vaccum advance on the distributor.
I do not know what carb. you are running, but on a Holley that vac. line from the distributer would go to the highest vac. port on the Holley, on my 1850 and 3310 it is on the passenger side toward the front.
yeah that would be fine, i run mine directly off the manifold, but my holley was built without a upper port. so until i change the metering block im using the constant vacuum port, it works just fine.........
