Help with electrical system
hi i'm new to this and was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a 90 Taurus 3.0L engine, i had problems with the battery so i took it in and had it tested and Canadian Tire told me it was not working that there was a dead cell, so i bought a new one put it in and then it ran, went out the next day and the car wouldn't start. I put in an newer altenator and boosted the battery and the car ran for half an hour, shut it off went out 3 hours later and it wouldn't start again.I also tested the altenator by taking the positive cable off the battery and the altenator still ran so it's not that. What could be draining my battery??? What could be causing this problem. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any info

+ cable connected to the battery. - cable disconnected. Use a test light between the - cable and the - battery post. Everything in the car must be closed &/or shut off. If the test light lights up, pull each fuse one at a time until the test light goes out. If you pull a fuse & the light goes out, trace that circuit for a short. If pulling the fuses doesn't shut the test light off, disconnect the wires on the alternator to see if that turns the light out.
