You should try doing a normal tune up first. Make sure you replace the fuel filter. They cause a lot of MPG problems. If you try that and it doesn't work you can check the injectors with a noid light. Also make sure you are able to move your injectors in your intake by spinning it slightly from sided to side. They should be able to move freely. It stuck, don't force it, you'll break the o-ring and will need to replace on the spot. If they don't move freely then you should take them all out, replace the o-rings and clean the injectors. I'm betting that its the fuel or air filter though.
My 01 5.4 4x4 averages about 14mpg in the winter now that I have a Diablosport Predator. It was getting about 12.
A Dioblosport Predator?? Is that a programer that improves gas mileage? If so how much does it cost? I have a 99 f-150 4x4 4.6 and i am interesting in geting a programer that is meant primarily for gas mileage. Although not to bad i get about 12-14 city and 15-16.5 hwy(depending how i drive) and would spend the money to get a programer if i heard from someone who swore by them.
