Forgot to mention, I still have not got my Factory Tech valve body in yet, nor have I finished the HPX line either. Soon as I get the valve body in and finish that with the drain plug I will install in the tranny pan as I did the axle cover plates, I will hang up PIC's of these as well as those of the HPX line when finished. https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...&albumid=14763
hey rowdyone, couple things, that downpipe, did you fab that up yourself? looks darn good. on the frame painting, i know it was the high heat paint, but was it the one in the aerosol can or something different? that looks really snazzy and its startin to get an itch in myself. loooks like your truck is the big brother to mine. good going
Thanks dude, lots of work has gone into this so far, I just got the HX line on the truck last night late too. I hope to get the new valve body in the tranny this weekend.
The exhaust stuff I ordered form the same place I got the chips and guages. He sent me the exhaust stuff out as a kit that I fabed up myself. I had to weld the flanges on and weld up a 3" to 4" reducer to fit the downpipe since I wanted to leave those in the system but didn't want the cat. or muffler. Then the rest of this had slip fits which I tacked and put clamps on and welded my old hangers on to keep the same vibration proof system. He had the nice mandral bends in the pipe already and all I had to do was work this out to fit my application. Really was not a bad project at all. I did cut the old aluminum insulation off the old down pipe and strapped it to the new 3" with big stainless hose clamps, figured it would be good to shield the tranny lines from it best I could.
The paint is Dupli-color engine enamel. Its in a spray can but does have a better than average spray nozzle on the can. It shots a fan spray. I sanded and power wire brushed the stuff to be painted and washed off with acetone before painting too. I thought for the spray can over haul, it turned out ok. Thanks for looking at the PIC's too...
