I have seen in these posts that something like Simple Green and low pressure water are ok.
My only suggestion would be to keep the water off of electrical components. I keep coming back to my Injector Driver Module situation, but the tech at the dealership said that water likely got down the backside of it and entered the vent in the back of the module and caused it to malfunction. This was on a 97 and Ford has since relocated the unit because of this potential problem. They are about $850 new, so you definitely don't want to do anything that can damage them.
I don't know what year truck you have, but if it is a 97 or older PSD, your IDM is located on the drivers side fender underneath the hood spring area. It is silver and about the size of a hardcover book.
Since I replaced mine, I ran a bead of gutter sealant across the top edge and down the aft edge of the unit. The vent is on the connector end (nearest cab) of the unit. That should keep anything from trickling down to where it can get into the vent.

just make sure the engine is cold, steam has no problem finding it's way into electrical components.
