Question Driving and arm pain

Had anyone experience pain in the fore-arm and elbow, when driving a 2003 F250 or F350.
My partner and I are experiencing such problem and I am wondering if it could come from a to much stiff steering. I find the steering a bit hard to drive on long run, for a power steering equipped vehicle, but I wondering if it is normal for a truck of this size; a dealer tried to convince me it was normal.

I personally think My 03' CC 4x4 With larger than stock tires steers easier than my wifes 00' chevy car. If it's hard to steer I think you may have a problem. Does your PS pump wine at all? It may be a little harder if you have a diesel, i have a V10 and have no problems.

If you are "steering" your truck on a long run, I would look at checking your alignment - complete including checking the rear end. My truck was out of alignment from the factory causing drifting left while driving and stopping. After the dealer aligned it (neg camber on pass side!), it goes down the road straight with very little or no effort.

I agree with Jim, sounds like your arm is compensating for an alignment/balancing problem. Also possibly improperly inflated tires.

Not sure what the particulars are on your truck - year?, 250/350?, sc?,cc?, 4x4?, engine?, ......

Drove mine from Spokane, WA to Houston, TX in 3 days and did not have any arm problems but my lower back and rear end got sore after a while each day. I blame a lot of that on me being a few pounds heavier than I should be and the truck was never intended to be a touring coupe. If you are having arm problems, I agree, it may be an alignment issue anmd you are overcompensating. I would also agree that checking tire pressure is a good idea.

I notice minor pain in my forearm and wrist. Caused by holding the steering wheel low with my wrist twisted because ford was too stupid to put holes on the side of the wheel for your fingers to go through it. Ergonomic blunder. I find it fairly fatiguing on long trips. They should have shaped it like the Expedition steering wheel.

Depending on yr and mileage it may be a ball joint or steering box problem or alignment!
These things steer easier than some cars I've driven.

My arms hurt because of no arm rest. Have individual seats with center console but no arm rest.

I had the same problem with my work trucks and vans till I figured it out. It's because the steering wheel was smaller than my cars, and I have big hands. Ordered a leather wrap sew on kit from JC Whitney. The first one I did put 1/8" foam refrigerant tape under it, the rest just the leather wrap took care of my pain.

Exclamation

Most people drive way too long before they stop to rest/walk around a little. Our bodies were not made so sit that long!!! Especially holding an arm out to steer. It is easier when one is young, just wait until time catches up with you. Start taking more frequent BRIEF rest stops. Your whole body will appreciate it.

Then of course your steering/tires may also have an issue too. Then you have double trouble!
Good luck
