Allright, just making sure I have this straight. For '80-'86 trucks the cab and a half was a "supercab" and the double cab was the "Six man cab". Correct?
I got in an argument with a guy when I called a cab and a half a supercab, he insisted it was an extended cab, and I said it is now but wasn't then.
supercab is a trade name used by ford like kingcab for nissan, clubcab for dodge gm used extendedcab crewcab is a name used by all manufacturers to discribe the full four door cabs that were mostly used by comercial users until they became popular with the general public in the early 90s
i'm talking when they first came out. The ford double cab was a 6 man cab, the GM double cab was a 3+3, dunno about dodge, but crewcab is the new generic term.
Crew cab is not a new term it goes back to the early 60`s when International and Dodge had crew cabs.As far as Cab and a halfs go ,Extended cab is a GM term,Super cab is Ford and Club cab is Dodge.
