back up for a little while. i have replaced alot of parts but
it still willn't stay running. any replays would be helpfull.
thanks, miker475 my first time on here. thanks again
Does the engine just quit like the ignition switch has been turned off or does it stumble, lope, etc., before it dies? Any computer codes? When you restart after it dies does it blow black smoke, blue smoke, etc., is it hard to start?
I think you need check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail. There is a schrader valve located on the fuel rail that you can attach a fuel pressure gauge. You should read a minimum of about 40 psi. With the engine running watch the pressure to see if it falls off. Might be a problem with the fuel pressure regulator closing up and shutting the fuel off. Disconnect and plug the vacuum hose to the pressure regulator and see if that solves the problem. If the pressure regulator is good and you aren't reading about 40 psi then you either have a restricted fuel line or bad fuel pump or fuel pump relay.
Does it seem to die faster if you give it gas, or drive, versus it just idling?
If so it might be a clogged fuel filter. It lets gas through just real slow. Letting it sit gives it time to build pressure back up. Fuel filter is a pretty easy swap too. There are a couple tricks that help.
