Note to Self. Do not lean up against truck when unplugging extension cord that is wet in or around the connector, it hurts. I was acting as the cunductor, kind of a hot vibrating feeling on my arm and my left hand.
That is funny, I just did the same thing. Came back from a trip the the plug was iced up a little and when I started plugging them in the ices was melting from my hand. Guess what happened next. 110 volts is not bad though, just a little tingle.
Well the salt the covered the front of the truck that was also on the plug help conduct electricity also. I would have shock a little less with just water or I might not have felt it at all. Don't you know a little shock helps the arthritis.

not bad?? i know a guy who got killed from 110 volts he was working on his truck and the trouble light shorted out
Sort of true. AC is actually safer than DC in that regard because the voltage (and current) alternates polarity (hence the name).
The muscles will alternatively expand and contract with AC where as with DC they go one direction.
It's the current though that gets you - not the voltage. I know guys who've been seriously hurt getting across a 5 V DC power supply. A wedding ring or watch is best removed and left in the pocket any time you open the cover on any electric gear.
Now if you want to talk about fun with electricity, watch your wife try to crawl between two rows of board on the fence that are also strung with the fence charger wire
First contact was between the legs - yeow, straight up to the next contact mid back - yeow straight down to next contact between the legs - yeow, and repeat that a couple more times.
I know it hurt but dang it was funny - maybe that's why she's my ex?
Seriously, a GFI breaker out to where you plug in the cord for the truck and a full three wire extension cord out to the truck would be a good thing
Yeah thats actually like the 3rd time Ive done that, we have snow and ice on the ground and I guess the key thing is not to touch any portion of the truck when unplugging. But unplugging from the outlet first is a good idea
harold, dont you watch mythbusters? lol. they tried that one and unless he touched it with his hand or some "other" object they say you cant get shocked. im not gonna try and see if its true though. anyone ever been shocked by a phone line? i was working on our phones and someone happened to call when i was holding the two lines and had my armresting on a peice of conduit. perfect grounds. falling off a ladder can hurt.
The normal battery voltage on a telephone line is -48 VDC. The ring voltage is 90 VAC so yes it can be quite a tickle
