Where's the heat?

I have 2000 X with a v10. There has been 3 seperate occasions over the last 3 months where I could not get any heat out of the front or rear for about 20 minutes or more. The front hoses were warm. I played with both sets of controls. I thought that maybe there's a damper door or something that sticks, but it seems to me I should still get heat from the rear. Is there any kind of electronic control for this? Has anybody else experienced this?

I'm having somewhat the same problem. I don't really have heat but I do have lukewarm air coming out of the vents. I also just noticed that my temperature gauge indicates well below normal. Putting the two observations together, I'm going to change the cooling system thermostat, probably tomorrow. We'll see if that corrects the problem.

that's what I would do in your case too. My problem is a little different. The air I get is cold, but all the hoses are normal and the guage reads normal too. I think its an electrical problem or a mechanical problem with the damper door or something switching over. I was hoping someone here would have some feedback but I'll probably have to take it in. I don't have time to spend going in circles trying to figure it out.

There is a blend door electric motor behind the glove box. Squeeze the sides of the glove box and it will drop for access. It is the white box on top of the duct work directly behind the glove box. The blend door has a few screw that hold it in place. It has a thing in the bottom that moves the door in the duct to regulate the amount of heat. Inside the motor is some complicated but neat stuff. I had mine apart...turns out it was not my problem... but could move damper manually when the door motor was apart. Be careful and good luck.
