HOLY SMOKES!!! i would go fortunatly i live in a very good neighborhood with neighborhood watch and neighbors not afraid to shoot.
I live in the same kind of neighborhood, but that didn't stop someone from taking two large wooden Ford Trucks off of my front porch (think coffee-table size, not toy size). What really blows my mind is all three dogs didn't hear a thing.
I hate thieves. That would suck to get ready to go to work in the morning and you have no wheels. Any neighborhood there are thieves. I had my old 1973 Olds Cutlass stolen from my drive way twice. The first time I found it a mile away tucked in a alley. The second time they stole it they ran it into my buddys brand new taurus. My car was a little dinged up but nothing major but my friends car was totaled. Later I found out it was these kids I went to school with and they held a grudge from then and took it out on my car. I later sold the car to avoid anymore head aches
That is why I put locking nuts on all my wheels including my trailer. Most low lifes do not carry the tools to defeat them.
i used to think that . right after the new years week end i got to work to find the wheels and tires off 4 jetta gli's and they had wheel locks on them, found out from the police they hit 5 dealers that day.
If they hit 5 dealerships I wouldnt call that your run of the mill low life. But honestly... what was this guy thinking? lol not to mention they were 15's
Even if the dude was foolish / misguided enough to put nice wheels on a not so nice car, he doesn't deserve to have them stolen. Its time we started punishing thieves for the crimes they commit rather than giving them a slap on the wrist and letting them go.
I agree with puregrunt, even though the rims probably cost more than the car, there isn't any reason he deserved it. Hopefully they will catch the guys and take care of them, maybe they can make some buddys while they are locked up.
jkorreck-why was a 10yr old trying to steal the 14's off the aerostar, that would be like stealing my 14's off of my ranger, lol.
I've heard stories of locking lug nuts being the last one tried by thieves when attempting to steal wheels. They can't get it off and they just go away, leaving one nut holding the wheel on resulting in varying degrees of disastrous results for the owner that didn't notice the tampering. Anyone have first hand experience with that?
