When I tried to pass the other day, the transmission would not kick into passing gear. Under hard acceleration it also "bogs down". I don't know how else to explain it. It does not slip. It could have been doing this for a while, because under normal conditions it operates perfectly. I drive a lot of dirt roads, and it is possible that it may have mud on the tranny. I have tried to wash it off, but it made no difference. The filter and fluid was changed about 20,000 miles back. Thanks for any help.
I had a very similar problem to this at 75k miles on my 99 F150 5.4. It turned out to be the throttle position sensor. At the time it did not kick out a code either. To this day, I can disconnect the TPS and duplicate that same problem.
Okay...that's a start. I really don't think that it's a tranny problem, so that makes sense. I guess I will go pay the Ford guys to check it out. Thanks.
