Pats won 24-21 and big suprise, TO did nothing really big except take playing time away from people who got the eagles to the big game
What game did you watch? TO played as well or better than anybody who could have taken his place--9 catches for 122 yards! He didn't have any spectacular plays, but I'd say that was McNabb's fault--I've never seen so many poor passes in a Super Bowl. Plus, TO got injured in December--right before they lost their last two regular season games (one of those was a blowout by CINCINNATI of all teams), so he certainly was a part of the road to the SB. The big story of the game is that the Eagles blew it in the last 6-7 minutes by not managing the clock. There's no excuse for not getting to the line quickly and/or going to a no-huddle offense. The Pats' defense was broken--they were showing some big holes at the end of the game. But, in the end, the Pats made fewer big mistakes (Rush will be writing another book--"I Told You So, 2: Donovan McNabb IS Overrated").
t.o. did have a lot of receiving yards. and i think eagles kinda had the first quarter. but they didnt have the other three. halftime kinda sucked too. at least is wasnt ashlee simpson or some other crappy band. im glad eagles didnt win cause philly really woundnt shut up if they did. i agree with montana ford, college is a lot better sport because they play harder so they can go pro. thats just what i think though.
The little oompa loompa guy in his little suit saying the eagles dominated the first 1/4 is an idot. yes they made a couple of first downs...but dominated?
I heard that too! And I could not get over it. I couldn't believe
he said it! Then as they recapped the game at various points
during the first half and the network attemped to favor the Eagles
in the highlights it was completely clear to me that McNabb had
made enough mistakes too lose the game!
I kept saying it over and over the rest of the game... Dominate?! DOMINATE?!
That halftime show sucked. I can see Paul McCarthey if this was Superbowl I and his songs were not so "classic" but this was Superbowl XXXIX and signing depressing songs from 30-40 years ago just down right sucks to me. I know they wanted to take a safe bet because of that Janet Jackson fiasco last year but c'mon Paul McCarthey?
jroehl--I agree with all of what you said, except for the Cincinatti thing...Jeff Blake and Koy Detmer...that's it right there. No one cared about that game.
jdadamsjr--I don't think anyone likes Philly, especially their fans
I think we all know that it was an awesome game, and extremely aggrivating for me. I still cannot figure out the end of the last quarter and most likely never will. Chris Collingsworth and all of his other co-horts are simply...(I can't even think, every word that came out to finish that sentence was offensive....but you know where I'm going with this). Collingsworth is a moron and changes favorite teams more then the actual possession in the game. Joe Buck called Westbrook Michael at least 3 times, and at least that many 2 weeks ago as well. Troy Aikman rounds out the whole pack with his ear piercing commentary. I LOATHE everytime they are on.
The Eagles played a much better game then anyone could have expected, and what makes it worse is that they were capable of more, but just didn't produce. I don't know what was wrong with McNabb (other then the new football every play excuse) and well...I'm just going to say the name and not comment...Mitchell. The Pats played better and more consistently.
I'll never drop my head in defeat though, this was one helluva season and I can't wait to get to the fence at Lehigh. GO BIRDS!!!
