Anyone else have this problem ?When I'm going down a little bit of a washboard road, my bed vibrates up and down probably 1/8 to 1/4 in. Smooth road its fine..A while back someone posted it was the cab shaking and not the bed,I dont think it is.Has anyone else had this problem or had it fixed ? I had the truck in at 1000 miles and they balanced the tires ,that didnt help...Thanks for any help.
Thats the exact problem I have. At times i can watch the driver side of the bed move up and down just like you describe. I have no clue what it is but I'm hoping a tire balance will help this. When I rotated the tires any vibes I was having decreased by a significant amount so I assume its tire related in my case. If you find out post what it was.
It seems like it only does it on my driver side of the bed. It can't be normal becasue that is really the only time I notice a vibration problem. This can happen on a smooth road as well. When the bed doesn't move the truck rides excellent for a big 4x4
Does both sides of the bed shake? From what I can tell only my driver side does it, and still does after a tire rotation. Well if anybody had this fixed please post up. Other than that issue the truck is awesome.
Hey guys, read my post under vibration f150 5.4 with 4.10 My problem is the bed hopping up and down it started small like some of you guys but soon the bed is is hopping 2-3 inches they have replaced everything and i still have the problem I am going to try to make ford buy it back.
I've had 7 Fords and never had the rear bed shake at all. Its definitly a problem that should be fixed. And if they cant fix it they have to buy it back, or atleast thats what Im told?
My last Ford was a 91 Ranger ext. cab and I loved it,but I needed a bigger truck to pull my boat so in 97 I got a 96 Silverado 4x4 with a 350..The 350 was a fine truck but gas ran through it.September I got this 04 and I really like except for a few things, one being the bed vib problem and a slight shimmy ,vibration at 50 mph..So far the dealer hasen't been able to fix..
So far all they've done is road force balance tires and reindex wheels to tires.I've been playing a waiting game ,and putting up with it. Today I got an "Important service notice" from Ford extending tire warranty to 36 mon. or 36,000 miles..wonder what thats all about?
What brand tires are on your truck? I have the Generals, and I'm hoping that a balance will solve this problem. Today was a worse day than most, it had a pretty decent vibe almost my whole trip to work. I have my first appointment on March 5th so I'm going to mention this bed shake vibe problem. I'm surprised that it didn't help your truck, makes me wonder whats really wrong with them.

I had the 17" rims w/ Generals and switched up to the optional 18" w/ BF Goodrich's. The bed still does the same thing. I believe it to be normal for this truck(what kind of cabs does everyone have? I have Screw) I don't see how the tires could possibly have any effect. What ill results are happening as a result of this shaking? Buy back???
My truck does this on smooth roads, just wanted to point this out...like out of the blue the driver side bed starts moving up and down.
I have the standard cab. I personally only see my driver side shaking, but its possible that the passenger side is as well I just can't tell. When the bed doesn't move the truck rides awesome, but when it shakes I have a vibe through my seat and into the wheel. I tend to lean toward the tires because I also had a steering wheel nibble that totally went away after I decided to rotate my tires.

You may have different issue w/ vibration. Mine is not felt at all during this "shaking" . I personally don't even think about it anymore, but I can see how feeling it would be annoying. You may find more on this w/ a search.
