After 11 months and four trips to the shop, the vibration problem (40 - 60 mph only with foot on the accelerator) on my 2004 FX-4 SCAB has finally been fixed. Previous fixes that did NOT work were wheel force balancing, driveshaft change out, vibe damper, driveshaft angle shim (this helped somewhat) etc. This time they changed the entire rear axle assembly, FP Number V-953-R. The truck is smooth as silk under all conditions !!!
sounds like your truck spent alot of time in the shop.. but as long as they fixed the problem for free.. I always get a free rent-a-car to drive when mine goes in the shop anyways!

I went through the same thing. All the regular stuff then a new rear axle. It was OK for about 5k then started to vibrate again. I took it back and they rebuilt the front and rear differential this time. That was about 4k ago and so far so good.

edmundrsku, can you or anyone else tell me the difference between FP Number V-953-R and V-953-J? I noticed they replaced your rear axle assembly with V-953-R and you said you don't notice the vibe anymore. They replaced my rear assembly with V-953-J but I still feel the vibe. I'm wondering if your rear assembly is a new and improved one. Thanks!
