Knocking
Thank You all for the HELP

I have a couple questions to try to pinpoint where it's coming. Does the tick tick noise stay after it's warm? does it seem pretty consistant with rpm? Does it change volume or pitch with RPM?
Sounds like either the start of an exhaust leak, of a lifter. Both of those are usually described as ticks. a knock is usually much worse and sounds closer to a regular hammer blow on the block.
You can use a long screwdriver, or similar as stethascope. Listen to the head, the block, and the manifold to see where it's loudest.
thanks Brad R

The oil sending unit is just in front of the oil filter, but Its not making the tick noise.

2nd..The ticking does change with rpm. At slower rpms it sometimes just all together stops.(Tick Tick............tick tick tick.......tick) (inconsistent) At higher RPM's it will tck, tck, tck, tck. again then stop.(same as above) over 3500rpms you really cant hear much but the engine reving.... i hope this helps out a lttle bit more than the last info i gave. thanks Brad

you gotta be more specific, does it change with rpm, tick...... tick.......tick , and then tck, tck, tck, tck, tck? does the pitch, or intensitie change? why do you call inonsistant?
Well, its all but impossble to say without actually hearing. If it was the exhaust I would expect it to get louder with more gas. Sounds most like a lifter. Maybe someone else will have a way to describe the difference of sounds.
You can use a long screwdriver, a piece of a broomstick as stethascope. Put one end on the part you want to listen to and the other on against your ear. You can hear a lot more focused like this.
You should try the block, the head, and the manifold to see where it's loudest. Be sure to wear tight clothing (sleeves, no hanging scarves or strings) and stay away from the belt.
