I am going to rebuild my truck from floor shift to original column shift. (aut.trans.) I got a good used from Ebay with most of the parts except for the shift insulator and the pin to connect the handle. I already got an original shift handle but I am not shure where to put the handle in to the tube because now there are two different springs in the tube. One is called gear shift selector lever spring (7B071) and the lower is called gear shift tube retracting spring (7227) So my question is. Will the handle go in between or above the springs? I really appreciate some help! I hope you will understand most of my swenglish!!!

Do anyone know about this two springs and the shift Insulator. I dont find the upper one 7B071, only the 7227 and the Insulator. I tryed Dennis-Carpenter, Johns f100, mid-50, Sac Vintage. Thanks!!!

The complete part number should be B2AZ-7B071-A. Green Sales, in Cincinnati, Ohio shows they have 3 in stock. I've had better luck with Green Sales on these odd parts than some of the other vendors. Check the Parts Vendor Links page on Earl's World (Earl's World Link) for a link to Green Sales (the link won't work properly if I put it directly in this post).
You can always use Parts Voice (Parts Voice Link) and search for other places that may have the part. I must admit that I've wasted a lot of time chasing parts through Parts Voice, because it seems like the vendors they list never update their inventory. They show they have parts and they really don't. Seems like they entered their inventory in 1970 and never bothered to update it. It's a real pain sometimes - especially for you if you have to make calls to the dealers in the states only to find out they don't have the parts they say they do.
