Another strange question from Australia

In my ongoing quest to make my Aussie truck look like a US F-1 I have aquired a pair of emblems to go on the cowl

Can someone give me a measurement from the feature line down to the two holes that the emblem mounts too?

Are the centred on the cowl pillar? ie fore and aft measurement

F1 emblems

Halfdone,

Just noticed your post. I have a 1950 F1, can get measurements for you in about a weeks time if still required

Just found your post, but i've always been lousy at metric conversions.

From the feature line down, using a flexible tape 11 7/8"
From the leading edge of the door opening forward 1 1/4" and 3 3/4"

They basically center in the triangle formed by the door edge, hood curve and fender gasket curve (not fender, but the gasket which moves the whole thing 1/2" higher and back a bit)

Thank you. Exactly the measurement I needed.

Living in Australia and working on US cars I am used to both metric and imperial measurement.

Annoys the crap out of my local metal shop when I go in and ask for "A piece of 4 x 2, 3mm wall thickness, 4' long "........the apprentice looks at me with a blank stare and then goes and get's the boss......who fetches me 1220mm of 102x48x3......Just what I asked for!

It's funny how most materials available here that they pretend are metric are really just the old imperial stuff with a new label

like drywall sheets........4' x 8' is a lot easier to say than 1220 x 2440.......

Mark,

I know what you mean by metric/Imperial units thing with materials. Some US Government agencies have decreed that all purchases shall be made using SI (metric) units for the quantity, size, etc. A few years ago we couldn't order some special stainless steel tubing we needed desperately. The Air Force buyer handling the purchase refused to let us specify the material using the applicable military specification, because - drum roll please ... it was originally written in Imperial units (ID, OD, and length) and hadn't been converted to metric yet. He also refused to make the purchase without a military specification. Those are the days you just go home to get your head to stop hurting.

Oh, Ford Truck Ford Truck. There, now this little anecdote is legal on the board.
