I would like to lower my 2wd 1970 f100 sportcustom just a tad...but all the kits i have found for Fords are made for after the years of 1980 [at the earliest]. Anyone out there lowered their f100? I know how to lower the rear end...can i buy shorter springs for the front?
your best bet is to do a thread search on this subject. it has been talked about a bunch. aftermarket i-beams are going to be the best (not cheapest) route to go IMHO.
Break out the wallet. You may be able to get 2" out of the front, but anything more, and your going to need I-beams. It's been a while, but I think the cheapest I found was $500.

I don't know if I'm allowed to mention vendors, but I found some lowering hardware in a catalogue put out by LMC trucks, there's drop leaf springs and drop coil spring sets. It looks like you can drop it either 2 inches or 4 inches in the years from 63-72.
I think if you google LMCtruck you can find a website, I know they have one
Again, not sure if I am allowed to do this, but hope it helps
lmc doesnt carry the lowering springs anymore. I tried to get som for my 68. I have a buddy that says he knows a place where they make custom leaf for any application. I will get the info and post it here later this week.
