Has anyone installed a 5.9 cummins in a highboy, Is there a kit that a guy can buy, how dificult is it. I dont know if thats what I want, just weighing my options.
Look in Ebay search under "Ford Cummins" there is your tranny adapter plate and tranny up for bid right now. I have a Cummins in my 86' F350 and it will run circles around my 97 Powerstroke.

I second that, Ive got a 99 F350 PSD waitin for the 12V Cummins in my shop collecting dust to get swapped in this spring. It is definitely the way to go to have an awesome diesel engine in a great pickup.
Thanks for letting me know about the plate. I was checking out an engine/tranny on ebay the other day. I wanted so bad to bid on it but I didnt have the money. It was a cummins 5.9ISBE which is the new engine out of the 2005 dodge trucks, it came complete with the tranny, had only 4500miles on it, came with the aftercooler, radiator, oil and tranny cooler, had the fan, alternator, ac pump, and powersteering pump, all the harness and ECM stuff. A complete setup ready to drop into whatever you wanted. Can you believe that it went for only $5600.00 I watched clear to the end and was going out of my mind the entire time. Oh well, hopefully when Im ready, Il find a deal like that? anyway thanks for your input, glad to hear that there are Ford guys that love the cummins engine out there. Have a good one.

I've been a Ford dude since high school and love the Cummins. Currently I have the Cummins, but it's stuck in a 4X4 Dodge truck . I was thinking of doing a body swap to a 66 krew kab shortbed to match the wheelbase, then thought the 66 might look better as a 2wd lowered a little yet still have a Cummins .....I still have plenty of time and no money, so I have to live with it.
