Gas Tank Problems
I'm looking for some pointers in regard to my rear gas tank. I need to replace the hose from the filler neck in the side of the bed to where it mounts on the top of the tank. (This is the tank under the bed, not the one behind the seat.) I see that there is a protective shield over the tank. When I take out the bolts that hold this on will the shield just drop off? What will I find under the shield? Is the tank just mounted with straps? When I remove those will the tank be free? Should I disconnect the sender, or is there enough slack to get the filler hose loose without undoing everything? Also, what about the fuel line to the tank selector switch? I'm just looking for any advice or info to make this repair as quickly and painless as possible. Thanks in advance. This is a great site. Oh yeah, the truck is a '69 F250, CS.
