04 Explorer Trans. Code V?

04 Explorer Trans. Code V?
I have an 2004 Explorer xlt 4.0L With the tranny code as V. The manual shows a U but no V. What Tranny do I have, is there a dip stick, and should i worry about whatever the recall fix was on it?????

Your tranny is a 5R55S with no dipstick; the fluid additive fix (not a recall) should apply.

I just bought it last week and they said it needed a solenoid or a vavle body replaced. It was delay shifting into reverse. Any thoughts on that
????

If you already have the delay/hard shifting into reverse, the solenoid needs to be replaced. Ask about the additive when you take it in.
