Hey Cutts,
Petersons says they will print pics of anyones broken 208 transfer case in the nuts & bolt section. They said the case is plenty strong enough and won't come apart like yours did. I read that today at lunch and right away thought of you. Pick up a copy and check it out, maybe we can see your broke stuff in a couple of months.
i dunno I frequent many forums and there is one thread that comes to mind where people are saying a bw-1356 is stronger than the np-205. then again not many are very hardcore wheelers.

I was thinking of swapping my bw 1356 for a 205 we have laying around guess I don't have to now.
Yeah, they hold up well. Anyone read the petersen's with the 350/Cummins transplant? 500hp and 1000tq, stock 1356 too...
Naw, the engine supposedly makes 1000 HP and 1750 ft.lbs. I'm looking at it right now dreaming of the day I can run a 1/4 mile in 10.59 seconds with my crewcab longbox. Those numbers kinda remind me of the maroon 'burban in TTC....Shya right, and monkeys might fly outta my butt.
I wasn't so surprised at the 1356 holding up as much as I was that he is running an E4OD!!! Of all the lame, weak transmissions and this one is holding up to 1000<sic> HP and 1700+ ft.lbs. Yeah, OK.
Anyhoo, sorry to hijack the thread.
I swapped a 1356 for a (divorced) NP205. Only 'cuz I needed a longer front driveshaft. Otherwise I'm sure the 1356 would've been fine....until the pump broke off the aluminum tang that holds it stationary and the dang thing siezed up. I HATE OIL PUMPS IN T-CASES.

Chris
sweet man, i'll get right on it. i have pretty much quit reading those mags b/c all they wanna do is put a lift kit on a new toyota tacoma and talk about metric to standard tire sizes. every once and a while i find an article about on board welder or soemthing but all they are doing is advertising for the big boys and want like $800 for the whole system. i am gonna start buying the mags that have serious tech info.
sorry i hadn't replied to now, i'm not ignoring you or anything. my dad and some friends and i went to Tellico to ride this weekend. VERY NICE weekend in the Carolinas!!!! also we passed maybe one jeep so it wasn't crowded at all! although there were more dang 4 wheelers than i would like to have up there at one time!
Fishy, why doesn't Ho rejoin under a new name? Also, how is he doing and hows his truck?
he can't stand this site and is fed up with how it is run and administered now. back when me and him joined in like 1995-96 it was totally different, things were very liberal and everyone carried on pretty good tech info. now it seems like it is all about money and "how much lift does it take to put 33's on my mall crawler?" questions.
email me off here and I can get you some info on how to reach him redneckcadet AT netscape DOT net, Pro and Ivan and a few others will now what I am talking about.
