Turn signal help
My 89' bronco that we just bought had no problems with the turn signals the first few days we had it, now every once in a while one side won't work, then it will, then neither side will work, then they will. What do you guys think the problem is? I was thinking the flasher but I would think it would go out quick and not slowly. Do you guys think it's the flasher, or the turn signal switch itself.....or something else maybe?
I'm sorry if this question has already been answered but I couldn't find it in my search and I would greatly appreciate any help.
thanks in advance.
Since the problem shows up in both left and right signals intermittently, I would tend to think is could be a grounding problem. I would try the flasher unit first since it only costs a few dollars, what do you have to loose? Check these items first before digging into the switch/steering column area.
Good Luck.
I´ve had the same problem like yours!
The first thing I checked, were the bulbs and sockets for the turn signal for brocken wires.
But in my case the relay for the turn signal in the fuse box on the left side under the steering wheel, has a contactproblem.
I would check the contacts of the relay, the contacts of the fuses for the turn signal and if there is some carbon on it clean them and try the turn signals again.
Also check the contacts on the Multi-Function Switch and try to clean them and spray some contactspray on it.
I hope I could help you a little bit with your problem!
Michael
