Shifting a C6

I've been shifting my '89 C6 like a manual since I feel more power to the rear wheels and have better acceleration. I've heard this is bad for it and that it wont hurt it any. Shes not slipping any, shifts fine everytime, not hard. Can shifting her manualy hurt it?

i think its fine every once in a while, i wouldnt do it all the time. i hear of people doing this when pulling a heavy load cause it produces more line pressure and holds against slipping better, but it also forces it to stay in gear. its hard to hurt a c6. just dont hold it in gear to long. it problably needs some adjustments on the throttle valve, modulator, and maybe a band adjustment, then it would feel just as good in drive range letting it shift on its own pattern. a c6 is a healthy, firm shifting trans and if you service it and keep it cool its vertually bullit proof. there is a fine line between a healthy shift and a harsh shift. a good firm, quick shift is good because it produces less heat due to little slipping.
