brake problem

brake problem
hey
i have a 84 f150 300 and sometimes when i hit the brakes it goes to the floor and i have to let the peddle come back up and then push it again and the brakes while work fine. it does it every other time i go for the brakes
could it just be air in the lines or do i hve to start replacing stuff
any help would be grateful

Hi. Bleed the brakes starting from furthest wheel to closest wheel (from brake fluid resevoir), check vaccum connection to brake booster, check for leaks on all 4 wheels, check brake fluid reservoir cap is on poperly (look for "dribbles" of fluid down the side), check all brake lines connections for leakage signs. Make sure you give the brakes a good bleeding. Hope this helps.
