Since I upgraded my 302 to a 4 barrel edlebrock intake/4 barrel holley carb, my tachometer has been pegging high. Sometimes I hear a clicking noise under the dash, and the tach starts to come back into range. I traced the clicking to a relay coming off the ECC. Because I have just about phased the computer out of this truck I figure that is where the problem lies. I disconnected the relay, and now the tach reads, but not correctly. It says I'm idleing about 2000 rpm and will peg high again before the tranny shifts. Maybe the tach is damaged due to driving it around while it was pegging high... If anyone has any ideas, I'd really appriciate the help.
Thanks,
