My friend has a 02 superduty and i noticed that is has small vibration or wheel hop if your taking off and turning at the same time could this be from the limited slip diff or maybe something wrong.Mine has open wheel i believe and i dont feel that.I did notice worse when it was cold in his truck and as it got warmed up it wasnt as bad.It only last about 3 secs and only at very low speeds like when you first take off after that you can haul but beat it and what ever and dont feel a thing. But i thought i would ask everyone on here for him before something major happens. Thanks
If it only happens when turning then it's probably the LS unit. He can add a little more friction modifier to make it a little less grabby if it's bothering him
where would one find this friction modifier?I suspect any local parts store but before i send him out chasing after it i figure i would ask first. Thanks
The Ford stuff is the best. Drain the rearend and see what's going on in there. Then fill it back up with some good synthetic gear lube and friction modifier.
I will see what i have at work i know i got some posi additive for rearends i will read the bottle. As for fluid i can get mobil 1 for next to nothing from work as well so i will probably take care of him on this.
Just go to the Ford parts dealer and get a bottle of friction modifier and put a little bit at a time in and test drive until it's smooth as you want it. It just makes the clutches in the LS less grabby. The more you put in the less the LS will work though so don't put too much in.
