Camper Special Value

I was driving to my grandparents on the way to school on sunday and saw an old ford sitting in a guys yard for sale. Anyway I stopped and was shocked to see a sticker of $1500 OBO on it. Course then I started looking at it and heres the scoop

66? I think can't remember
75500 miles, original owner
4x4 F-250 351 Automatic
rusted fairly good on body, but not too bad. Underbody fairly rusted, but not as bad as my old 73.
Original factory air, works
looks to be in good condition, has brand new tires
sign said mechanical excellent, everything works.

Good deal? Personaly I don't have the money to get it, but if anyone is interested email. But thats not the point of this thread. I wanted to know if thats a good deal of not. -myers

Would be a 352, if it were original. 351 would be a motor swap.

Just a little brown, like the paint is worn through, or rusted as in stuff is rusted away?

The Camper Special does nothing for it's value.
If it has the original drivetrain, and is a 4x4, with the a/c, it's probably priced appropriately. The key issue is the rust. If it's just 'surface rust' meaning no perforation anywhere, then it's a solid truck potentially worth more. If it has rusty floors, cab mounts, core support, hood or any of the other common items that need replacing, then it is not likely worth more than the asking price.
Very difficult to peg a value on a truck by your description.

I agree with ddavidv, it's tough to price by your description, also location has a great deal to do with value, and there's no location on your info bar.
If it's camper special with a full pop custom cab, suspension, fuel & electrical systems it is worth more to some buyers and not to others. . . .

However, if it's a True-complete camper special, a legal registerable, turn key driver, with a free & clear title, and all it shows is "thin paint" and early signs of surface rust, $1500 is a give away price in my opinion. Prices of clean/ solid Slicks is only going up as their popularity continues to increase like it is.

When you factor in inflation & current economy it was a $150 price tag a decade or so ago. . . . if that makes you feel any better, and an equivalent vehicle in todays production (spec & equip wise) is $25-$30K @ about 1/2 the truck in durability/ style.
Of course that's my biased opinion FWIW. . .

Again worth is in the eyes of the buyer, of course, but the worth od slicks is rising & FoMoCo is not making them any more.
