The factory radio in my 88 F-150 doesn't work anymore. Probably happened when I opened it up to fix the clock light. Probably should have removed power from the radio before I started messin' with it.
Anyway does anyone have a Ford Factory AM/FM Cassettte that will fit an 88 F-150 they're not using. I know I could get an aftermarket one. But I'd kinda like to keep the truck looking original. Anyway let me know if you do and how much you want for it.
I have the one in my 92. I don't know if they're the same or not but I plan on replacing with an aftermarket one. I'd sell it to you if you'd like. You might want to make sure that it will fit though.
92 is different, sorry guys.I have 1 out of my '90 (only has about 12,000 mi. on it,I'll d*** near give it to you). But i gotta find it and I won't be able to check until this weekend.Let me know if you don't get one by then.
Thanks for the replies, I think SRD4X4 is right, the only radio that will fit is from a 88-91 F-150. However if someone has just an AM/FM that is ok as well. I don't think I own any cassettes anyway. I figured that since some readers have probably replaced the original radio there might be some unused ones out there.
FTE is strict about want/sale ads. Please check our guidelines, asking for a part is allowed but all sale discussions are to be taken off FTE. Ebay is also a good place to search for this particular item.
It'll fit. If you take a 93 radio and out it in a 88, some of the lights and thye clock won't work, but thye radio will fit and you'll have music and cassette. You can make the lights and the clock work by getting the wire plug from the new car and do a splicing.
i duno, the stock radio from my 95 slipped right into my beater 89...i didn't even really mount it, i plugged it in and slopped it into the "socket" i guess you'd call it...and it works fine. All it's functions work except i havn't set the clock.
If I was wrong on the 92-up fittin' a 87-91,sorry.I just remember having to use a "filler" panel around the stereo to fill the hole in my '90.My 92 has a smaller hole. But also didn't have cassette.
