Explorer horn locations?

Explorer horn locations?

I have a 98 Ford Explorer Sport 2wd 5 speed with a horn problem. when we first got it the horn was weak and high pitched but in months it stopped altogether. At first I bought an replacement from auto parts store and then tried to trace down the location while it still produced reduced sound. It sounded like it was coming from the left front grill but no luck there. Not under headlight adjustment door nor infront or behnd radiator or condensor in grill area. Nothing on side of engine compartment. Sounds like it is somewhere in bewteen in and out fender well beneath battery area. Anybody got any ideas other than exploritory surgery to find it? May just by pass the wiring from the horn relay and wire in a new wire to new eaisier location to get to. What do you think??

If you craw under the passenger side and look around where the frame and the bumper meet. In that general area look around and you should find them.
