external mounted battery posts
i have a 2000 f-250 ext cab 4x4 7.3 dsl. i am wanting to mount some external battery post to my truck front and back for easier jumping of other vehicles. does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not certain just where to get these, but I'd start at a welding supply shop.

I have seen connectors used in detachable winch applications(Warn) that also have a set of jumpers on one end that would work well. A connection in front and rear, plug in your jumpers and jump away.

The hot lick set up for that are these... jumper cables. Same idea as above and half the price. Plus, no major tramma to your truck..

Most auto parts will be able to order a set that you can use to mount permanately to the truck and connect the jumper cables when needed. I built my own cables to go to the back of the truck. I went to the welding store for the cable and also picked up a connector just like the front from the auto parts store. I've had mine on 2 truck now for about 8 years and love it.

wrangler wiring products
If you go to wrangler wiring products on the net, I think Ive seen a nice set that wiries up with a connector at the grille then you plug in the jumper cables and are about 20 to 25 feet long so you wont need to worry about them being to short.

funny that this topic is up today. i just received my shipment from waytekwire of 100' 6guage cable, 10 anderson power products sb series 75 amp quick connectors with covers. shrink tubing, wire loom, body clips etc. my plan is to have a plug up front, in back, and in the bed. then i can put a plug on my jumper cables, winch, lights etc to move them wherever i need to. anderson recommends yellow for 12v, but i bought the 36v grey model so it didn't stick out like a sore thumb.
