I have used stick welding cable ends and sockets (on the vehicle) and welding cable - it's real flexible. Since the sockets don't have any exposed metal, there's little chance of an accidental short.
I'm not certain just where to get these, but I'd start at a welding supply shop.
I have seen connectors used in detachable winch applications(Warn) that also have a set of jumpers on one end that would work well. A connection in front and rear, plug in your jumpers and jump away.

Look up a tow truck supply house on the web, they will have the connections and extra long heavy duty cables for just this purpose. Below is an example of what you will find. BTW the price for it from AWDirect.com is $188.00.
"Our Jump-start Set lets you jump-start without lifting your hood.
Mount the stainless steel socket to your bumper or grill area and permanently attach the 4 foot battery leads to your battery. To jump-start, simply connect the clamps on the battery cable to the dead battery and ground, and then plug the other end into the polarized socket box. No lifting your hood or having to attach clamps to your service vehicle. Includes 25 foot, 4 gauge battery cables that stay flexible to -40°, 500 amp clamps, a polarity light and side post adapters. Imported."
Most auto parts will be able to order a set that you can use to mount permanately to the truck and connect the jumper cables when needed. I built my own cables to go to the back of the truck. I went to the welding store for the cable and also picked up a connector just like the front from the auto parts store. I've had mine on 2 truck now for about 8 years and love it.
If you go to wrangler wiring products on the net, I think Ive seen a nice set that wiries up with a connector at the grille then you plug in the jumper cables and are about 20 to 25 feet long so you wont need to worry about them being to short.
funny that this topic is up today. i just received my shipment from waytekwire of 100' 6guage cable, 10 anderson power products sb series 75 amp quick connectors with covers. shrink tubing, wire loom, body clips etc. my plan is to have a plug up front, in back, and in the bed. then i can put a plug on my jumper cables, winch, lights etc to move them wherever i need to. anderson recommends yellow for 12v, but i bought the 36v grey model so it didn't stick out like a sore thumb.
