351W valve tick?

Hey guys, Im hoping someone may be able to shed some light on my topic, I have an 87 f-150, its got a 351w, 4bbl carb, bored 40 over,..
this is my problem, I just rebuilt the motor about 1,200 miles ago, and im having problems somewhere in the valve train, well I shouldent say rebuilt it I re-ringeed it and put new lower end bearings in, this is my problem, I have a valve tick, its comming from th drivers side, and its only when crusing on the highway, but... this is the funny thing, I just did an oil change, I went from 10w40, to a 10w30, with stp oil treatment in it both times, the tap started after the change, I have good oil pressure, and it dosent make much sense to me, but what do you think my possibilitys are of the oil being to thin? or something like that. its only when its hot, if you let it warm up a minute, and bring it up to rpm like crusing down the highway, it wont tick, but if you do the same thing to it after a half hour drive or so it will tick, any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Oh one more thing I forgot, I took of the valve cover, and when the rpms start to go up, you can see only a couple of pushrods sprining in circles, the others stay stationary only going up and down, thanks for the help.

sounds like your lifters are bad. i would just pull the heads off and get them rebuilt and install new lifters all around. this should solve your problem for sure.

well i talked to a proffesor at school today, he explained it to me, and yes in short i need to pull the intake manifold and do them, but he said to go back to my thinker oil for now, and it will give me some time to get to them,

he explained it as leak by on the lifter, and the heaveir oil was less prone to it, so im gonna go change my oil now, it sucks to throw out oil with less than 100 miles on it, but oh well, the whole 6 quarts can heat my garage for awhile.
