1977 Highboy steering conversion
I need help installing a 1979 two wheel drive gear box in my 1977 f 250 highboy
do i need to do any mods to the frame.And were do it get a adjustable link.
Is there any fabricated kits.

Why would you use a 2wd box? They are designed to go behind the axle and the 79 4x4's went in front of the axle. I think the highboys are in front of the axle also right???

Steering
I have converted two 74 Highboys to power steering. The first conversion used a steering box from a 1978 4x4 F-250. The second I used the steering box from a 1979 two wheel drive F-250. If I did another one I would look for the two wheel drive box. The two wheel drive box is longer from the pitman arm to the top of the box. This length makes it easier to clear the lip on your frame where the box mounts. Try to find a 1978 F-250 4x4 with factory power steering. Looking at it will give you an idea of how your new steering will work. You will have to box in your frame where the box mounts. If you look in the tech articles section ther are a couple of articles on how to do it.
