Like others that have posted on this board, I noticed recently that the cable securing my spare tire to the underside of the truck is beginning to fray a little. I am not concerned yet that I am going to drop my spare as I cruise down the road, but I figured I would do something very out of character and do something to actually prevent the problem instead of just responding to it when it finally happens.
Does anyone know what would be required to re-cable the winch for the spare? Is that even do-able, or do you have to replace the entire unit?
NOTE: I just saw a thread about 15 posts below this one that answers my question. Sorry for the post without properly searching the forum first. I did do a quick search, but I obviously did not do as thorough a job as I usually try to.
