I noticed that the convenience center 'trip computer' went out on me. I took it off the roof and noticed that the LED display is 'burnt' on the interior so I guess I need to replace. I called FORD and they told me that the part ONLY comes with the computer AND overhead console as ONE unit. $385.00 OUCH!!! Does anybody have a lead on where this part may be available or does anybody know a wrecker that I could try?? Here in Texas EVERYTHING is Deisel and I figured that a deisel would have different programming or display...MAybe Not????
first place I'd try is: http://www.car-part.com/ No idea about the programming, your ford parts department should know if there are two versions available or one. Good luck!
If it happens to be the same, I saved the electronics with display from my 2000 F250 diesel lariat that I will make you a smokin deal on.. Too bad this site disables email and stuff like that for some dumb reason.. if you want it, call me at 602-763-5189 and I'll help you out, isnt that what this site is for?

Also, since I forgot to bring my laptop home with me that had your email address, I grabbed my unit and figured I'd give you the part number I have on it, just in case .. The part number is F81B-25519C44-A, and it also has a VA2528 and a TL8058 on it, as well as a mode and e/m buttons, the plug on the side has 4 pins on the top row (two pairs basically), and 6 pins on the bottom row..
I am not sure why they wanted to sell it as one unit.. seems very odd. I broke part of my overhead console, and bought the new plastic outter housing for 40 bucks from the dealer. The plastic part popped right off never interfering with the computer part... so why isn't it listed seperate?
