Nice web site!
Now to the problem, last fall i bought a 1978 F150 4X4, 351M Auto.
I have positive camber in the right front, the outside of the tread is wearing quicker. I don't see any way to adjust the camber. The one thing I did notice
the long tie rod was bowed in toward the front axle, is this normal?
This truck runs down the road pretty darn straight. It's easier to drive than my 79 2wd.
I don't believe you can adjust the camber on the 4x4's. It sounds like your tow in may not be right if that tie rod is bend. Have you had it aligned? My guess would be that the tires are pulled in just slightly and it's causing wear.
Agree with Ivan, most likely too much toe-in.It's rare to have a camber problem on the older straight axles. There is an adjustment sleeve on the top balljoint that is threaded down into the axle, but they are nearly impossible to remove without dropping the knuckle.Unless you have more than 1 deg. possitive camber,I'd "set the toe and let it go".
