Don't get me wrong, I'm a Ford fan, but I can't stand the looks of an extended-cab truck. Now every f-150 is an extended-cab (even thought the call them "regular"). Will this trend fade? Or is truck-kind doomed?
Not doomed but certainly a minority. People who own trucks now use them for transportation rather than primarily for work. Need the room for kids and all of the junk associated with that. I'm even looking for a crew cab for the family.
I do own a '79 Supercab. That's the way they were supposed to look.
I thought they looked like the older toyota extended cabs at first, but now they are starting to grow on me.
I still have my 92 reg. cab and use it as a daily driver, but after buying my supercrew the 92 reg cab will be the last reg. cab truck I have for a daily driver.
I understand tha a lot of people need the extra room, but seems like its at the cost of good looks. Other than that, the new trucks look quite sharp. Especially the step bed (stx?). I just think it should be an option. I feel the same way about the 2ft tall dining room mirrors Dodge offers as standard wheels.
