Ignition Problems 77 f-150

HI. New here, first post i just got a 77 f150 w/351m. when i first got it home it had no spark. so i replaced the coil and module and put a new battery in and got spark. i let it idle for about 5 mins to try and burn the old gas out of the lines. it suddenly quit and now no spark again! anyone have any ideas?? its kinda making me blue!! i've searched through the forum and haven't found anyone who is having the exact same problem.it's almost making me want to put winter tires on my lightning....don't wanna have to do that! thanks for any help in advance

Welcome to the forum. If you have voltage to the + side of the coil, I would suspect the pick-up coil in the distributor.

Agree many times when the module fails it was actually the pick up coil that caused it. Without replacing both I have seen the modules fail repeatedly.

I'm having the same problem but everytime I replace the cap and rotor button it seems to fix it for about two weeks. Did you fix your problem by replacing both the pickup and the module?
