New Memeber's First Post Here...

Just signed up here and thought I would say hey to everyone on this cool site. I had found this forum with a Yahoo search sometime back and been doing lots of reading around here on all the things you guys have postings on that would apply to my Great White Elephant(95-F350 CC 4WD PS)...Had the truck since new and just love the truck. This site has lots of things that apply or at least can and have enjoyed the reading here.

So I just signed on and wanted to say hey to all you gear heads at there that love the PS's as much as I have.

"Great White Elephant" - I love it. Mine is "The Dirty Donk!". She's real dirty right now thanks to the snow and ice we got this weekend.

welcome! I think this site has some of the most helpful people around. Even if a question has been asked by others, they still reply.

Now that is my problem here exactly, I fear I may very well ask questions that have aready had plenty of paper on the site burned answering the very question I need to ask. I have seen several things here, that I have not heard about helping the PSD's, so if I do repeat a question and is more of a problem to answer I hope everyone will just say so LOL...

That is like the FPR shimming, you guys are doing around here. I have read and searched around the site on this info to see if this would be a worth while mod to do on the 95' "GWE"... Looks easy enough and I need to go in there and clean the screen and replace the fuel filter anyway, so felt like this would be a good time to look into this.

I have the guage to read the pressure changes and all. Guess I would have to ask all you guys here if you would do this or not?

I have several things I have done to her over the years already. Some have been her recently with improvements to mods that have advanced and I thought I needed LOL...

I have 4" straight pipe with a 3" down pipe. No muffler or cat...
I have played around with the throttle pedal as I hated the slack it had or should I say the response travel before throttle actually started to come up any. Ford could have done better on this if you ask me LOL. I must say the mods I have seen here on the throttle pedal have me curious though as I have not messed with that end of the throttle for as WOT voltage... May have to mess around with that someday too. The mods I did was when she was still brand new LOL...Response is good now for as you move the pedal and the throttle comes up, right now too; not after you move the pedal an inch LOL...

I have just recently bought and installed the six position flip chip for her and installed that. I just had to have this as I wanted one position for high idle for like a warm up, or long periods of idle so I could have her idle at 1100. That has been sweeeet too. The HP of this chip has been great too. Now its not at all in the same ball park as the newer 7.3's with the intercooler and all chipped up but the GWE does pretty good for a ten year old truck with 130K plus miles on her...

I have the 3 guage pilliar mount with EGT before the turbo boost but so that I can read both head temps combined, I played around some with where to read the EGT's and after the boost was too slow and not really going to help me keep from having a melt down when I have my foot in her running the lenght of Texas on the interstate not backing out except to refill LOL. So I drilled and tapped the cast elbow under the turbo for the temp probe for EGT...

I have the air box as in stock nasty one modded somewhat and the grill cut out right from the start when she was new, as I never have figured out where the engineers thought the motor was going to pull the air she wants like they was from stock. I have the stuff almost gathered to build me the Tymar system with my way of twisting this LOL, soon as the filter I ordered comes in. Our NAPA store here is not that good LOL...

I like to work and build things here as I figure most here do. So I do like to put my spin on things when it seems to me it might work for the GWE... I have a set of running boards that are to die for on her I made when I first bought her. I have built several sets since for others with trucks like this or trucks that work for a living as they are very useful in how I make them go from the front tire to the back tire, this allows you to get better access to stuff in the back by being able to stand on them behind the cab.
No flimsy stuff here either, you can jump up on these and rake the mud and stickers off your boots and go LOL...

Added the tranny cooler the same day I drove her home the first as the new owner. After all the trouble I have had with prior PSD's and their tranny's the cooler was the first thing I did. This truck has been the best one of many I have had yet. 4:10 gears was a little tight on things so I put 305-70R16's on the stock wheels to help take the starch out of her and help with highway speeds. The Goodyear AT/S tires are a really good tire for the driving habbits I have. On the second set of those now.

I have a 20K reese fifth wheel full tilt plate that is removable in the back for when I drag trailers around, some of which are really too big LOL...She doesn't seem to mind much though long as I keep fuel in her LOL...I also have the Edge chip coming and should be here Tuesday afternoon and I hope to have that and the air box remodeled by days end Wed.

So, let me ask you guys, knowing all this I have rambled on about here with her, you think shimming the FPR would be a good thing here or not. I seem to have been told that the Fuel pump on this model of PSD was not so good of one??? I have no idea if they was filling me with a line of BS or not about all that.
You guys know your stuff around here and seem to have a lot of fun sharing and visiting with each other about all this, so the long post here to one of many questions I would like to run by you all.

Thanks for the paper space here and I hope I didn't burn off to much paper and not leave enough for everyone else LOL...Got to run for now Laterz
