Looking for info on how to hook up dual monitors that display the same thing. I have 2 video cards, but adding a second monitor just extends my screen. I want both monitors to output the same. Thanks .
It depends what sort of graphics cards they are (i.e. ATI or nVidia based being the most commen), as they all have the settings for mirroring in different places. Right-click on your desktop, go to properties, select the secondary monitor, and click 'advanced'. Depending on the driver set and configuration you're useing, poke around in there untill you find something that will either let you enable mirroring or cloneing (same thing, different mfs call 'em different things). nVidia cards sometime call it twinveiw.
What OS, Motherboard, graphics cards, and driver sets are you useing? I've got three monitors hooked up to my desktop (two 19's and a 21") but they're spanned.
for god's sake man, at least throw win2k on there!
If they are different brand cards, i can almost garuntee that they won't clone (Hell, i'm actually suprised they worked at all, esp on win98)
If you can find a VGA splitter, it should work, BUT!!! BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT!!! You need to make sure that the monitors are either the exact same model, or that they can support the same resolutions and refresh rates, otherwise you might accidently fry a monitor.
