I am swapping a '79 Dana 60 into my '85 F250. The problem I am having is adapting my '85 steering to the '79 axle. Is there anyone out there who has done this swap, and if so, how did you make it work? Anyone suggestions would be more than appreciated. Thanks.

If anyone can give me any advice i'm also considering an axle swap. I was thinking of putting a full floating dueley axle in an 86 f-250. I bought the truck with a bad rear and am trying to turn it into the ultimate handling truck for when im towing our car trailer with another pickup on it.
An 85.5 up Dana 60 from an F350 is pretty much a direct "bolt in" swap!
This has been discussed on this forum many times.
Almost to the point where people don't want to discuss it any more.
As for installing a 79 down axle from a vehicle with a different frame width into the 80's up vehicles with the wider frame, I'm sorry but I can't help you here.
