Question Rates and Terms for financing

Hi all!

I've ordered a King Ranch 350, 4x4, CC, long bed. Expected delivery at this time is late February. Now it's finance time. What kind of rates have you guys been finding? My local Credit Union (Medford, OR) is offering 5.10% for 60, 72 or 84 months. Any suggestions? I sniffed around the Forum and unless I'm blind in additon to being dumb I can't find anything. Online, Peoplefirst is about the same as my local CU. I also decided to get the wife a surprise Mother's Day present in the form of a 2005 Mustang GT Covertible. Perhaps to ease my guilt over the new truck? Anyway, if anyone has a line on good terms and rates for both vehicles, let me know!

-Brian

Thanks Capt.! I check to see what the dealer can do. When I inquired, he didn't seem too interested in anything more than the published Ford rates. 3.7%? That's pretty good! What is the term length?

Pay close attention to Gap insurance costs in your figuring.

My bank USAA Federal Savings covers this for free.

I got 5.1% for 84months last Sept on the new truck

Most banks will drop .25 to .5% for direct withdraw or auto debit.

My wife likes to play credit cards against one another. So of the four cards we have had for over 15 years, whenever one gets close to paid out they send outrageous O % offers for LIFE of the loan. She just put most of my new truck transfer to a Citi card for ZERO forever and left a little on USAA to keep the Gap insurance valid.

USAA sent a new sightdraft for 40K so we may pick her up a 05 V10 KR before they close the order banks....

BTW she balance transfers $5000 of our motgage every year to one of the 0% offers and we have stomped down the pay off and total and years significantly.

Fred! You guys know how to work it! (Next up...the talk show circuit!) Very clever indeed! I can do that with the card myself. Just got such an offer from Disneyland's Visa. Also very good on the mortgage!

Thanks!

Finance through the dealer, and you'll get more rebates. I financed at 6.99% for an extra $2500 rebate over the 2.9%. I also knocked the rate down to 6.74%.

You'll immediately have more equity in the truck, then you can look at refinancing with your bank or credit union, or pay off a chunk with a 0% credit card to save a little more.

MSRP on my Lariat was $34,250 and I financed $25,141 after all taxes and a 5k downpayment.
