Engine and trans identification
I have a 1984 ford f150 with a 302 engine and AOD transmission. The problem is that the motor was changed before I bought the truck, I'm not sure if the tranny has been chaged or not.
Where is the motor and tranny year/model stmnped or labeled.
I have been having problems with the tranny down shift and need to know what year I have.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Jun-02 AT 01:23 PM (EST)]The block casting numbers/letters are up behind the starter on the side of the block. E3TE-6015-B
The intake manifold casting are on the top.
Heads casting numbers are just above the exhaust ports on a 460 ,others are under the valve cover in the oil galley area.
There is a casting that would be like this :
ie: E4TE-9425-B there are also ACTUAL DATE numbers that look like this . ie: * 3L22 *
Every part I mentioned has both sets of numers coding.
If you get all these bumbers we can tell you what it is.
Make sure you get ALL of them.
