I've got the option to get my hands on a 95 f150 4by, my ? is . has there been any major problems with this model? and what should iexpect in gas? think i can trust it cross country?
I bought mine last June with 129,000 on it. I've put about 8,000 miles on it since then. The truck was originally a Michigan Dept. Natural Resourses supervisors truck. So I'm assuming the maintanence was kept up. I drove the truck back to Maryland, about 600 miles. I got 19.5 mpg on the highway doing 70+ most of the way.
Since I've had it, I've pulled my car trailer with up to 6,000 lbs on it on several occasions, had to drop it in 4 wheel drive several times getting through some deep mud, and recently snow, I use it pretty much every day to go to work, 20 miles...
There are a couple things that need a little attention on the truck that I'm waiting for some warmer weather to do, but it's been completely reliable so far and I don't expect any trouble out of it any time soon.
If the price is right, and it looks like it hasn't been abused too bad, I say buy it...

i've got a 95 f150 regular cab eddie bauer 4x4 with the 5.8 and 220,000 miles on it, the previous owner did oil changes about every 4 thousand miles. it's never left me stranded. since i've owned it i've had to change; the ac compresser (bearings shot), exhuast (due to rust from michigan snow/salt), and rear fuel pump (just plain quit), and needed a new rear end (totaly siezed up, probably due to my abusive driving). i still consider it a good truck, especially after all it's been through.
What kind of fuel mileage are you getting with the 5.8?

the milage on my truck isn't real great, i would say that i was getting about what mmbintn is getting when i was on the highway, now that I've changed the exhaust and didn't reconnect the 02 sensor, it's probably somwhere around 10 city, 12-12.5 highway. I part of the change could also be that i have 31" tires
I'm the orig owner of a 2 wheel drive 95, with the 5.0 engine. Runs great as long as you stick with original ignition parts. I get 15 around town, 16.5 hiway
