I am new here and need your help. I just bought a used 94 explorer limited and I love it.
My only problem is when I am driving on the freeway and decelerate, there is a noise and the truck rides a little rough. It does this when my foot is letting off the gas pedal. Acceleration is fine and smooth although it does feel like it is holding out a bit on power.
Truck Details:
1994 Explorer Limited 4 x 4
Automatic Transmission
Inline 6 Engine
Some dealerships have told me several things like
Rotors, axle, or balancing issues.
I dont want to pay to have a dealership look at it. Is there anyone in the Bay Area that can help me troubleshoot the truck or if any enthusiasts want to help that would be great!
Ummmmmmm......... Unless you have a VERY limited explorer, it has the V6 4.0L pushrod engine. The inline 6 was not an option. As to the noise, have you checked the wheel bearings and radious arm bushings? Those are possibilities.
yeah, it's most likely the wheel bearing or radius arm bushings. Go to 4x4central.com it's a site for BII's, ranger, and explorer's... lots of good info on these vehicles there.
